Jeff Hunt
Founder & Executive Director
Jeff Hunt is the Founder and Executive Director of the Into the Storm Foundation.
Jeff is a Marine combat veteran, current Arkansas law enforcement officer, former Chief of Police, former SWAT sniper, and serves as a full-time firearms instructor. He holds a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Human Performance.
Throughout his career, Jeff has served in many roles across the military and law enforcement, but none have been more fulfilling than his instructional roles.
Jeff believes the gifts and opportunities God has given him come with a responsibility to serve others. That conviction continues to guide both his life and his work.
His philosophy is simple:
Performance has to be trained, measured, and improved.
That belief became the foundation on which Into the Storm was built.
Why the Foundation Exists
I've spent my career striving to earn the right to stand in front of those who have trusted me to teach them.
Whether in the military, law enforcement, or as a full-time firearms instructor, I have always believed that the people who choose to learn deserve my very best. That responsibility has driven me to continually pursue improvement—not to prove that I was the best, but because I believe instructors owe their students nothing less.
Early in my career, I believed I was a good shooter because I met the standards expected of me. It wasn't until I had the opportunity to train alongside instructors operating at a much higher level that I realized how much more was possible. That experience didn't diminish what I had learned—it expanded my understanding of what excellence could look like.
From that point forward, I became committed to never stopping my own pursuit of improvement and to sharing that knowledge with others.
Over time, another realization became impossible to ignore.
The problem wasn't that officers didn't want better training.
The problem wasn't that agencies didn't care.
The problem was that too many officers simply never had the opportunity.
Quality training takes time. It requires instructors, facilities, ammunition, and resources that many agencies struggle to provide. As a result, dedicated officers who genuinely want to improve often find themselves limited by circumstances beyond their control.
I believe every law enforcement officer who is willing to invest in becoming better deserves the opportunity to do so.
As I prayed about where God wanted me to use the gifts and opportunities He had given me, I became convinced this was where I was called to serve.
That's why the Into the Storm Foundation exists.
The Foundation was created to remove financial barriers and expand access to professional, performance-based firearms training for law enforcement officers. Our goal is not to replace agency training or criticize the outstanding work being done across the country. Our goal is to support it by creating additional opportunities for officers to develop the confidence, competence, and decision-making that can only come through meaningful training.
Every officer who becomes better prepared strengthens the profession.
Every stronger profession serves its communities better.
If the Foundation can help one officer discover a higher standard, pursue it, and carry that mindset back to their department, the impact extends far beyond a single class.
I believe that's how lasting change happens.
And I believe it's a mission worth investing in.
What We Believe
We believe performance has to be trained.
Competence is built through purposeful repetition, objective standards, and continual improvement.
We believe every officer deserves access to quality training.
An officer's opportunity to improve should not be determined by a department's budget.
We believe better-trained officers make better decisions.
The goal is not simply better marksmanship, but better judgment, confidence, and performance under stress.
We believe instructors have a responsibility.
Anyone who stands in front of a class has an obligation to continually learn, improve, and earn the trust placed in them.
We believe preparation protects communities.
Every officer who becomes more capable has the potential to positively impact countless lives.
Our Commitment
